Our technology curriculum is designed to introduce students to computer science, the language of the 21st Century! Students learn to create animations, program robots, develop video games, and much more! We use simplified educational pedagogy to teach industry software to students through cool, interactive learning activities that engage novice students in STEM education. Each activity incorporates the Common Core State Standards and may be implemented after-school or integrated into the normal school day.
Kid-Tec (Grades 1-8)
KIDTEC Online Tutoring Academy provides fun hands-on, engaging technology activities that take students’ creativity to the next level! Kids bring their stories to life by creating and animating their favorite characters using Alice®, Scratch®, and/or SAM® Animation software programs. KIDTEC Online Tutoring Academy teaches elementary children to become fluent in technology, learning programming logic and concepts before they can read. Middle school students are introduced to physics, technology, and engineering enrichment. KIDTEC Online Tutoring Academy is designed to stimulate creativity, promote teamwork, and develop problem-solving skills. Students get a kick out of creating cool projects like robots, roller coasters, and learning coding and animation! (Traditional and Online)
Introduction to Alice 2 (Grades 6-8)
Students learn to program with interactive 3D graphics. They are introduced to creating 3D objects, moving in 3D space, and developing Pose-to-Pose Animation. Students advance to animating a character, creating special effects, and applying the practiced techniques on their own stories and games. (Traditional and Online)
Introduction to Alice 3 (Grades 9 -12)
Students learn to program with Interactive 3D Graphics. (Traditional and Online)
Introduction to Sketch Up
Students learn how to create general 3D models using Trimble Sketch Up, a type of intuitive modeling software that teaches kids how to create simple models. With easy-to-use tools and a simple process, there is virtually no limit to what can be created using Sketch Up. (Traditional and Online)
Introduction to Scratch Programming (Grades 1-5)
Students are introduced to programming with MIT’s Scratch, a free and easy programming language for today’s millennial students. Students will learn to create interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art. (Traditional and Online)
Storyboard and Design (Grades 1-5)
From Imagination to Presentation! We integrate computer science with literacy and reading. Students learn to brainstorm and communicate ideas to others in an efficient and quick manner. Kids create, write, design, and electronically publish their stories. (Traditional and Online)
Introduction to SAM Animation (Grades 1-5)
Kids discover Stop Action Movies using SAM Animations, a software program that creates stop-motion animations with a webcam. SAM Animation is designed to increase student understanding with its intuitive technology. (Traditional and Online)
All courses have student workbooks to reinforce learning. Essential for the Kinesthetic Learner!
